LIFE AS WE
KNOW IT

BIO

Tyler Nix was born in Morrisville, Pennsylvania in April of 1998. He picked up his first guitar when he was just four years old. Being raised by a father in the music industry he strived to master the musical abilities that his father, TJ Nix, showed him at a young age. Nix’s style of music at this young age had been strongly impacted by blues artists such as B.B. King, Muddy Waters, and Eric Clapton. With these influences he began composing his own songs when he was eight years old.

When Nix attended Hopewell Valley Central High School he developed a stronger sense for how he wanted his music to sound. He began to shift away from the blues genre and became more fascinated by David Gilmour, John McLaughlin, and John Petrucci. In Nix’s freshman year of high school he started pulling from songs he wrote when he was younger and recomposing them to his new taste which consisted of pieces that involved more intricate parts.

In his senior year of high school and into his first year at college—where he studies music—he started recording his first album. He selected songs that were all stylistically different to showcase his musical interests. This album, Life As We Know It, is a compilation of his favorite songs from his public performances.
